HRB Saturday Sport Roundup

National League

Barnet 1 AFC Fylde 1

A hard earned point for the Bees with both goals coming in six first half minutes. Shaq Coulthirst put Barnet in front with a sharp finish into the bottom right hand corner after 20 minutes. The lead didn’t last long Danny Philliskirk heading home from close range. The Bees enjoyed plenty of possession early in the second period but it was the visitors who had the better opportunities Joe Cardle missing from six yards and Danny Rowe hitting a post.

HRB Sport On Air Schedule and Preview

Hello All
HRB Sport is back on air to cover this weekend’s local fixtures with both league and FA Cup matches scheduled. There was a dramatic late twist to Hendon’s preparation for their tie with Phoenix Sports. The match has been postponed due to an FA investigation into the club fielding an ineligible player in the previous round.
We have shows across the weekend and also on Tuesday (25th September) to report all the midweek action.
Ahead of the Bees home encounter with high-flying AFC Fylde, the club have strengthened their defensive resources by signing Zak Jules on loan from Shrewsbury Town. Jules started his career at Reading and has represented Chesterfield, Port Vale and Motherwell. He is available for immediate selection at the start of his month long stay at The Hive.
Boreham Wood won their game in hand in some style on Tuesday, brushing aside Sutton United 4-0. Two up in six minutes through Angelo Balanta and Keiran Murtagh, the game was virtually decided after the first quarter when Justin Shaibu added a third. The Brentford loanee then linked with Josh Umerah to seal the result in the 54th minute, and enable Wood to leapfrog their hosts into 7th place.
Potters Bar had to settle for a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw against Worthing despite a Bradley Sach wonder strike.
