Potters Bar town are looking for a new manager after James Duncan announced that he was leaving the club to take over at Evo-Stik League Chesham United. First Team Coach Michael Murray has also departed for the team currently bottom of the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division. Director of Football Steve Ringrose and skipper Lee O-Leary will take over first team matters for Saturday’s trip to Carshalton. In a statement on the clubs website Chairman Peter Waller said; “Whilst we are disappointed at the timing, we are extremely grateful for his services and achievements with the Club and wish him well. We are taking positive steps, with an important game at Carshalton Athletic on Saturday and regarding the appointment of a new Manager.”

The Green’s bounced back from their midweek FA Cup exit with an excellent performance which saw them twice come from behind before grabbing a winner 19 minutes from time. Mike Campbell gave the home side the lead after 10 minutes Stephane Ngamvoulou levelling things 15 minutes later. Hartley Wintney were back in front again 11 m minutes into the second half thanks to Jack Ball but goals from Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick and Laste Dombaxe completed a memorable comeback which takes Hendon to within a point of league leaders Weymouth.

Opportunities were at a premium all after noon Casey finally breaking the deadlock after substitute Billy Adcock’s shot was spilled by visiting keeper Lewis Carey.

Hendon found the replay in their FA Cup tie with Lancing a great deal more comfortable than the home leg which ended 0-0. They ran out 4-0 victor’s in Sussex but their stay in the competition was short lived bowing out 4-1 at Chippenham Town on Wednesday night.

Barnet have drawn National League opponents in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round. The Bees will face Braintree at The Hive on 20th October; the teams drew 1-1 in the League back in August.
Borehamwood also have familiar Cup opponents in Dagenham & Redbridge who will be the visitors to Meadow Park.

Our Saturday commentary match this week comes from The Pakex where Potters Bar take on Lewes in the Bostik League Premier. The Scholars will be looking to bounce back from a week which has seen them beaten at league leaders Tonbridge Angels before going out of the League Cup on penalties by Hayes and Yeading. Coach James Duncan rested a number of first team regulars for the midweek action so Potters Bar should be back at full strength for the visit of a Lewes side who are unbeaten away from home in the league this season. The Rooks have already won at Wingate and Finchley, Margate and Dorking Wanderers, they’ve found the going much more difficult at the Old Dripping Pan where they haven’t registered three points in four attempts. The Scholars in their first season at Premier level are just three points outside the play offs. Lewes was once home to Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts and Arthur Brown of ‘Fire’ fame it also staged one of the earliest cricket matches on record in 1694, suffered the worst avalanche in British history in 1836 and boasts the biggest bonfire night festivities in the UK. From 2010 Lewes FC has been owned by the clubs fans, shares in the club can still be purchased for a minimum stake of £30.

A brace from Wes Fonguck capped an excellent performance by The Bees in their first ever meeting with Solihull Moors. John Still made three changes recalling both Dan Sweeney and Josh Walker while giving a debut to new loan signing Manny Duku. After a tight beginning it was Walker who had the first chance of the game Moors keeper Ryan Boot doing well to block his 15th minute effort. At the other end Mark Cousins denied Adi Yussuf turning his goal bound effort over for a corner. Barnet dominated the second period with Craig Robson and Zak Jules both in outstanding form. The home side took the lead when Walkers sharp turn in the area set up Fonguck for a finish from six yards. The second goal arrived in injury time Solihull gifting a quick free kick in their own half to substitute Jack Barham who set up the unmarked Fonguck to complete the job.

League leaders Tonbridge finally shook off the Scholars resistance thanks to a Joe Turner goal after 72 minutes. Potters Bar had levelled Tom Parkinson’s opener with Eion Casey’s second goal of the season four minutes after the break. For the second game running the Scholars ended a game with 10 men after Sean Grace was red carded.
