Buildbase FA Trophy

HENDON 1 Biggleswade Town 2

The Greens saw their trophy hopes dashed as the visitors scored in the last minute at Silver Jubilee Park. Hendon took the lead three minutes into the second half through Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick, only for Tom Smith to pull the visitors level with nine minutes remaining before Joe White completed the comeback in the 90th minute.

Horsham 1 POTTERS BAR TOWN 0

The Scholars looked to have done enough to earn a replay before Chris Smith popped up with the winner two minutes from time.

Tiverton 2 WINGATE & FINCHLEY 3

The Blues came from two goals down to stage a remarkable second half comeback. Goals from Levi Landricombe and Max Smallcombe either side of half time took the home side into a comfortable lead. Marc Weatherstone started the Wingate & Finchley comeback with a 67 the minute goal, Charlie Cole levelling things five minutes later. On a day of late goals the winner came two minutes from time when Scott Rogers put through his own net to send the Blues into the next round.

A knockout weekend on HRB Sport……..

HRB Sport has a double header this weekend featuring all the action from our local teams league and Cup fixtures. One of the most eagerly anticipated weekends of sport includes the FA Cup (with Barnet and Boreham Wood in 1st Round action) and FA Trophy where Hendon, Wingate & Finchley and Potters Bar all compete. On Saturday you can follow the goal action as it happens; then on Sunday HRB has a Cup special starting around 12.30 to provide full coverage of Barnet’s match against League One Bristol Rovers.
On the eve of a crucial weekend for the team, Barnet have strengthened their attacking options by signing Mohamed Bettamer from league rivals Braintree Town. The 25 year old Libyan has scored 6 goals this season after an impressive record of 29 in all competitions for Staines last campaign.
The Bees secured a comfortable victory in the Middlesex Senior Cup against Wembley, despite being reduced to ten men when Darnell Smith saw red. Incredibly all 4 second half goals came in a 9 minute spell with Dan Sparkes scoring at either end of the team’s purple patch. Shaq Coulthirst and Jack Barham provided the jam in the middle.
Middlesex Senior Cup holders Hendon look in no mood to hand over the trophy following a second round victory at Hanwell Town. Despite countless chances the prolific Ricardo German scored the only goal of the match in the 15th minute.
Potters Bar succumbed to a first half hattrick from Jason Prior as Dorking Wanderers ran out 4-1 winners in the Bostik Premier. Keagan Cole struck an impressive free kick to give the visitors hope of a comeback, but the Surrey club held on to their 3 goal interval advantage and now lead the table with the Scholars remaining 7th, 2 points behind the top 5.
