HRB Sport on the road to Wembley

After an encouraging week for HRB teams with a win for Hadley and useful league points for Barnet and Wingate & Finchley, Saturday Sport returns with another mouthwatering League and Cup Cocktail.

3 steps to Wembley for the Bees as they hope to follow up a hard fought draw at promotion chasing Sutton with success in the Trophy at league rivals Fylde. The hosts put 6 past Havant & Waterlooville in midweek to create a 3 point gap between Barnet and the bottom 4.

Wingate & Finchley remain in the drop zone after being held 2-2 by Bishops Stortford. Into Rapai and Sean Cronin gave the Blues a 2-1 lead and hope of a first win in 12 before the visitors equalised, all goals coming on the first half in stark contrast to the team’s dramatic result last weekend.

Hadley returned to the top of the table through goals from Ibrahim Camara and Emanuel Hammond in their 2-1 win over Wembley though Saracens stay at the top may be short lived. Gloucester won the Friday night match 30-24 though the Men in Black did secure a losing bonus point after tries from Rhodes, Gallagher and Wray plus the boot of Lozowski reduced a 13 point interval deficit.
