That’s Another Fine Mess….. Barnet v Barrow…The Preview

Following Tuesdays disappointing defeat against Chesterfield Bees boss Darren Currie is looking for a reaction from his side as they find themselves just two points off the bottom four. It certainly won’t be easy, Barrow arrive having lost just one of their last ten a run which has been based on a mean defence keeping clean sheets in four of their last five games. While a run to the play offs might be a step too far Neil Evatt’s team are comfortably placed in mid table.

Barnet have gone 301 minutes since their last goal and haven’t won a league game at home since they beat Dover on the 22nd December. Striker Dave Tarpey completes his loan spell this weekend and Currie might be tempted to give a start to Jack Barham as he attempts to give top scorer Shaq Coulthirst some much needed support. The boss has hinted that promising teenage midfielder Antonis Vasiliou who impressed in the Middlesex Senior Cup defeat to Brentford might feature in the first team squad for the first time.

Facing nine matches in the month of March it’s important the Bees shake themselves out of their current slump. They currently have five games in hand on the teams around them but with some tough assignments ahead there is no substitute for points in the bag. Pete Hill and Garry Lakin will be at the Hive to provide full match commentary on HRB Saturday Sport.
