Among the highlights of a packed Bank Holiday weekend in the HRB locality were victories in the FA Cup for Wingate & Finchley and Hadley, both progressing 2-0 at home.
This sets up a mouth-watering fiesta of Cup football next weekend when 6 of our teams line up in the First Round Qualifying. Last weekend’s winners have been rewarded with home ties, while Hendon and Potters Bar join the competition at this stage.
Hadley host Arlesey Town, Wingate & Finchley welcome London Colney, Hendon travel to Little Common, and Potters Bar visit the winners of the Takeley/White Ensign replay.
It’s league action all the way this time out, with HRB Sport at the centre of the action. Barnet will hope to improve on a draw double over Bank Holiday buoyed by their second half fightback against Torquay to overcome a 2-0 deficit.
Boreham Wood, beaten 2-1 by Ebbsfleet on Monday go to bottom club Chorley in front of the TV cameras in the day’s late kick off.
Wingate & Finchley capped a brilliant weekend by securing their first league win against high flying Haringey Borough and look to continue their form at 3rd placed Hornchurch.
Potters Bar’s 2-2 draw at Enfield keeps them in touch with the top 5 ahead of the visit of Cray Wanderers.
Hendon also celebrated their first league win, 3-1 against Chesham United and seek their second at Yate Town.
Hadley drew 1-1 at Walthamstow midweek ahead of a long trip to Saffron Walden.
