Full coverage of Bees’ London derby as Hadley, Hendon and Potters Bar seek Cup glory

It’s something of a cliche to say that this weekend is the most important round of matches so far this season, but whichever way you look at it HRB Sport promises to bring you a variety of action that our listeners will be glued to. Full coverage of Barnet attempting to build on their most convincing result of the season and 3 crucial FA Cup ties involving Hadley, Hendon and Potters Bar.

Despite AFC Fylde’s woes, it was a remarkable turn round in form for Darren Currie’s team to leave Lancashire with a 4-0 victory. Ricardo Santos set the Bees on their way with a brilliant strike from a Jack Taylor in the 10th minute; Simeon Akinola and Josh Walker ensured there was no home fightback early in the second half and Mauro Vilhete applied the coup de grace from a tight angle int he 67th minute.  The margin of victory lifted Barnet into 5th ahead of their next opponents, Dagenham & Redbridge and Dover.

Double success at The Hive with the Under 18s beating Edgware 3-1 in the FA Youth Cup. After falling behind in the first half, goals from George Murphy, Okem Chime and Wraynel Hercules saw Dan Senda’s team through.

Hendon boss Jimmy Gray has strengthened his squad ahead of their crucial FA Cup tie by introducing striker Oliver Stevens and goalkeeper Lewis Todd. The 20 year olds have represented Godalming and Chesham United respectively. The team began this Cup week with a morale boosting victory in the CSS League Cup on Tuesday. Francis Amartey scored the only goal against Walton Casuals just before the interval.

The Scholars warmed up for their Cup tie at Ware with a thumping 4-1 win at Bishops Stortford. Top scorer Josh Hutchinson opened the scoring on 36 minutes. Brad Sach pounced on a goalkeeping error to double the advantage early in the second period before former Stortford man George Craddock drove home the third. The hosts pulled one back before Ben Ward-Cochrane added a fourth to lift Potters Bar into 9th.

Wingate & Finchley’s encouraging draw against leaders Folkestone Invicta on Saturday was followed by a narrow 1-0 defeat at Cheshunt.
