FA Trophy clashes on HRB Sport set to continue Cup drama

Bees and Scholars fans had full reward for their FA Cup investment this week, when after nearly 200 minutes of pulsating football and late drama, Barnet finally made it through to the First Round Proper. After Andy Lomas forced a replay in the 101st minute on Saturday in front of the club’s biggest ever gate, Potters Bar sensed an upset when Ben Ward-Cochrane put them ahead at The Hive. Josh Walker brought the tie level again before half time, before Ephron Mason-Clark and Jack Taylor calmed home jitters and sealed a 3-1 win.

Barnet have the chance to repeat last season’s giant-killing run when they host League One Fleetwood Town. The BBC have extended their involvement in the Bees cup run; having streamed the match at the Pakex, they will show extended highlights of the First Round tie which will be played on Sunday 10th November, kicking of at 12.45.

Hendon celebrated their first league win in nearly two months in midweek. Tre Charles, recently signed from Northwood and Reece  Mitchell, returning to the team, scored the goals in a much needed 2-0 victory.

The Greens remain in the bottom group but are now only 3 points from safety with games in hand.

Wingate & Finchley also remain in trouble following a 2-1 defeat to Bishops Stortford. The visitors were 2-0 ahead after 15 minutes and despite a dominant display the Blues only had Tommy Tejan-Sie’s goal on the half hour to show.

Better news from Hadley where Luke Jupp’s brace saw the team progress in the Challenge Cup against Stansted.

Edgware lost 3-0 at Colney Heath.

There’s more Cup competition this weekend as Potters Bar, Hendon and Wingate & Finchley set off on another road to Wembley in the FA Trophy.
