Hive coverage leads HRB Sunday Sports Special

HRB Sport has a different look this weekend. No Saturday show but a full round-up of local results and coverage of the game at The Hive on Sunday.

Barnet travel north for today’s Trophy clash having pocketed a National League record transfer fee for Jack Taylor. The Academy graduate jumps two levels up the football ladder joining Peterborough United for an initial £500,000 which could rise to £1 million. He made 127 appearances for the Bees, scoring 16 goals. Another Jumpin Jack Flash sees Jack Barham join Dorking Wanderers.

The Boreham Wood game, postponed due to a waterlogged pitch over Christmas has been rearranged for Tuesday 28th January.

A first win of 2020 looked on the cards for Wingate & Finchley in midweek when Luke Ifil scored against Leatherhead in the 20th minute. However, a brace from Jack Embery in the second half took the points and left the Blues rooted to the foot of the table.

Hendon had a similarly chastening experience, exiting the Southern League Challenge Cup with a 5-1 drubbing at Needham Market. Manager Lee Allinson was hampered by several players being unavailable and had to name himself on the bench. Shaun Lucien’s 25 yard screamer was one of the few highlights.
